MSLA Executive Board Meeting Summary

November 15, 2006

The Executive Board of MSLA met on Wednesday, November 15 at the Weston High School Library.  There were 16 board members in attendance.

Once again, the MSLA Conference was a great success!  From the new age Web 2.0 socialization of information to beta Google tools and searching techniques to storytelling teaching methods and tips, the content available at this event cannot be surpassed! We had over 485 members attend and learned new, exciting ways to teach our students to be information fluent!

Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements about legislation supporting our school library programs.  Once again, the annual Bookmark Contest has begun. This years’ theme “Adventures in Information Land” should prove to be an exciting challenge for our students. Remember the deadline for entries is January 31, 2007 and all awards will be presented at the State House during our Legislation Day on March 8, 2007.

The Winter Issue of the MLSA Forum will have the theme “Guidelines and Standards”. Any member who would like to contribute is encouraged to contact Patsy Divver at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

Don’t forget to renew your membership as soon as possible in order to continue to have membership privileges.  Members who have not renewed by December 31st will be removed from the email list. We will miss you and don’t want you to lose the benefits our school library teacher networking provides.

The MSLA Executive Board wishes everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous 2007!

— Carol Klatt, MSLMA Secretary
