MSLA Executive Board Meeting Summary

January 10, 2007

The Executive Board of MSLA met on Wednesday, January 10th to start an active new year for MSLA members.  Remember, due on January 30th are your school’s entries for the annual Bookmark Contest with this years’ theme “Adventures in InformationLand.”  So far we have Steven Krensky and David Biedrzycki on our judging panel along with MBLC members. Judging will take place in February and the winners will be announced at our Legislative Day on March 8th at the State House.

You are all encouraged to come join the festivities at the State House and bring parents from your school as well as your school administrators. We support certified library teachers and robust library programs for every school in Massachusetts.  Share your voice and those of your supporters by joining us at the State House this March.

Exciting news! The MSLA Executive Board has approved the Massachusetts Recommended PreK-12 Information Fluency Standards. Please check out the final documentation online in the current issue of the MSLA Forum @ http://maschoolibraries.org/content/view/139/115/

The MSLA Executive Board looks forward to seeing you all in 2007!

— Carol Klatt, MSLMA Secretary
