MSLA Executive Board Meeting Summary March 14, 2007 The Executive Board of MSLA held a virtual meeting on Chatzy Wednesday, March 14th. There were three rousing cheers for the great success of our Legislation Day held on March 8th at the State House. Some of our Executive Board members have already received support for our bill from their district representatives. During the event, we had many members present along with a group of supportive parents. There were informative displays available showing the important role that library teachers perform in our schools. We attracted a great deal of attention and traffic during our festivities when we presented the 14 awards for our annual Bookmark Contest. Twelve out of our fourteen winners came to the State House to accept their honors. Great work Legislative Day Committee, our hats are off to you! The MSLA Student SIG held a mini-conference on March 24th at Simmons College, planned by our Student SIG representatives Anna Schneider and Susanna Paterson. The program included a variety of speakers and lunch. About 30 prospective library teachers from Simmons College, Salem State and Cambridge College attended. The Executive Board elections will be held starting April 1st. All members will receive an email ballot including biographical information about each candidate. Your vote is important to us so please be aware of the ballot when it is posted on the listserv. — Carol Klatt, MSLA Secretary
