The MSLA Executive Board met on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the
Needham High School Library with 17 members in attendance.

Kathy Lowe highlighted several items from her Executive Director/President's Report: Sandy Kelly is assembling job descriptions for all Executive Board positions. MSLA membership continues to increase. We now have 755 members. Our own Ann Perham is running for the position of AASL Region 1 (Northeast) Area Director.

The College Student Symposium was planned and hosted by the Student SIG group. The miniconference was very successful, with about 35 people attending. Several MSLA members presented and Kathy Lowe was the keynote speaker. Seven new student members joined MSLA at the symposium.

The Central Region Legislative Breakfast was held at Westborough High School, with Diane Libbey and Linda Kimball as hosts. Kathy Lowe attended MLA's Legislative Day in April. The MSLA Conference Committee is moving along with planning for the fall event. Sandy Kelly is in the process of lining-up local authors for the Author Fest. There was a good voter turnout for the online MSLA elections. Kathy Lowe has received calls from parents concerned that library teachers and programs are being cut from school  budgets.

Legislative Committee co-chairs Bob Roth and Judy Paradis provided a summary of the very successful Legislative Day that was held in March.
