The Organization:
The Massachusetts School Library Association is dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning through the integration of school library media programs, resources and technologies into the total educational process. With its diverse membership, the organization advocates, promotes and strengthens school library media services to students and teachers.

You will be entered into a drawing for a free registration to the 2008 MSLA conference for every new member you recruit.   • Provide leadership in developing and promoting standards for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of school library programs, resources and educational technologies.
  • Strengthen ties with state, regional, local and national library and educational organizations.
  • Encourage the teaching of information research skills and media literacy across the curriculum.
  • Design programs to promote the love of reading and literature.
  • Offer members the opportunity to share and exchange ideas, knowledge and practices.

Annual Fall Conference:
Each fall, the two day MSLA conference is held with national speakers, workshops and vendors.

Newsletter:
MSLA Forum, the MSLA publication, keeps members informed about professional issues and events.  Members are encouraged to submit articles for publication.

Technology:
MSLA will continue to keep members informed about the use and implementation of new technologies, statewide and national initiative, and workshops scheduled throughout the state.

Awards
MSLA recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of school libraries by making many awards. They include:
