DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Great opportunity for a librarian who is dedicated to serving patrons, nimble in a fast-paced environment, and eager for challenge and change. Responsibilities include providing reference assistance in person, by phone and email to a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff; instructing individuals and classes on the research and use of print and electronic information; collaborating with library staff on projects, including collection development, building web resources, and creating research guides; and providing technology support for desktop applications. Must be able to work 14 hours per week: 1 to 2 week nights, alternating weekend days, and some weekday hours to enable integration into the library staff and participation in the instruction program.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master of Library/Information Science degree. Previous reference and instruction experience required. Experience with Microsoft Office XP software. Will consider candidates who will receive MLS by June of 2008.
