I am a second semester graduate student in the Simmons School Library Teacher Program and feel excited to be involved in leading the MSLA Student Interest Group.
I am currently volunteering at the Boston Arts Academy/Fenway High School Library and am enjoying working with the high school students there. Also, I do storytime twice a month at my local library to an audience of young children. I have a strong interest in international librarianship and am looking forward to volunteering at the San Juan del Sur Biblioteca (the first lending library in Nicaragua) in March, 2010. As my studies progress, I aim to deepen my knowledge of technology and form a more nuanced understanding of the school librarian’s unique roles as teacher, instructional partner, information specialist, and program administrator.

I bring to this position a love of other cultures and languages (I spent part of my childhood in Germany), a passion for music and dance, and a great affection for children’s and young adult literature.
