The Executive Board of MSLMA met on Wednesday, September 20 at the Weston High School Library. There were 26 board members in attendance. Katherine Lowe, President, showed us the publication titled “Indiana Power: A Parent’s Guide to School Libraries.” She announced that a Massachusetts version will be available for purchase at the MSLA annual conference. The book is full of documents specifically designed to stimulate parental support of school libraries. The Professional Standards Committee is nearly finished with a document that specifies Recommended Massachusetts Information Literacy Standards that we will be submitting to the Department of Education. Our exciting new logo and web site design will be unveiled at the MSLA Conference on October 29th, 2006. The Conference Committee has been busily organizing this years’ conference. They are looking for members who would like to exhibit lessons and projects in the Exploratorium.
