DESCRIPTION: This award honors an MSLA member who in a career of three or fewer years, has made a significant impact on student learning through a quality school library program. The individual may also be making a positive contribution to MSLA activities in the region or state. CRITERIA / ELIGIBILITY: Recognizes MSLA members who have been in the school library profession for less than 3 years, one per Area for a total of 5 awards per year. The recipients must have a professional library degree or state certification as a school librarian. APPLICATION / NOMINATION PROCESS: In each region, the Area Director will receive nominations from members of the respective region and may make recommendations him/herself. The AD will recommend the award winner to the Executive Board for final approval. There shall be award given for each of MSLA's five Areas. If a region does not have a suitable nominee for an award, the region will not be represented in the award for that year. AWARD: Certificate; 1 year subscription to a publication, donated by Linworth. RESPONSIBILITIES: Article for the Forum (each recipient writing an article). 2012 DUE DATE for Applications and Nominations: November 16, 2012
