Come and see what adventures lie in store on C.S. Lewis’ THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER! Randy Testa, Walden Media’s Vice President of Education will discuss C.S. Lewis’ idea of a moral compass as it’s presented in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Lewis’ idea that “reading all the right books” is critical to a compass that accurately points us in the right direction will be highlighted. Previews from Walden Media’s forthcoming December 10th release THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER will be shown and free Educator’s Guides will be distributed.
Dr. Randy Testa is Vice President of Education and Professional Development at Walden Media. Walden Media is the film production company that produced adaptations of “Bridge to Terabithia” (2007), “Charlotte’s Web” (2006), “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” (2005), “Because of Winn-Dixie” (2005), HOLES (2004) and in 2008, “Prince Caspian” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” “RAMONA AND BEEZUS,” based on Beverly Cleary’s beloved characters and book series, opened this past July, and the third installment of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER opens in theatres December 10, 2010. Testa holds his Ed.D. (’90) and Ed.M. (’78) from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Testa is the 2005 Recipient of the President’s Award from the Florida Council of Teachers of English for Walden Media’s contribution to enhancing literacy in Florida, and the 2007 Recipient of the “Celebrate Literacy Award” from the Colorado Council of the International Reading Association.
