Join MSLA for a discussion on the newly-signed Massachusetts Freedom to Read law. Find out what this bill does, how it protects librarians, what schools need to know about updating or creating policies to align with the law, what sort of reporting will be required, and more.
Staff from the Mass. Library System (MLS) will be presenting information along with members of MSLA's Intellectual Freedom Committee. We will leave time at the end for a Q&A session. There will be handouts and resources shared, which will also be made available to all MSLA members.
We plan to record the presentation portion of this program to share with MSLA members, while the Q&A info may be used to create an FAQ so we can share important information without revealing participant identities.
This program is presented by MSLA but is open to all. Feel free to share this invitation with other interested parties, including administrators or school committee members.
